R.I.P Sunflower Market

What a blow! Honestly, I've never been so co-dependent on a grocery store in all my life, but we had a special bond, me and Sunflower...Or so I thought. I feel so betrayed. I didn't see this coming at all. Now I spend a good portion of my time rocking back and forth in a slumpy ball in the corner of my room wondering if there was more I could have done to prevent this from happening. Was it me, Sunflower Market???!!!
Man, this makes me depressed...

On the bright side...The Kroger's in Grandview has to be my all-time favorite mega-grocery store in all history. I actually drive past a Kroger's to get to the Grandview store (really not that surprising as the "Kro-ghetto" is weird and creepy and smells like sour juice). All the people at Grandview Kroger are friendly and not jaded and bitter like most grocery store employees. They also have stuff I can't get at the healthier grocery stores (like big packs of Green Forest t.p....BOOYAH!). It's an overall positive package of a grocery store. They could use more samples though.

Personally, I thought that the "Nature's Market" sections of Kroger & Giant Eagle had a better (meaning about the same stuff just lower priced) than Sunflower.
EXCEPT when Sunflower still had their bulk section. They had what were basically the real version of Corn Nuts. Sooooo goooood. I had to stop going in there cause I couldnt control myself & the mass quantities I was consuming.

I'm on a personal crusade to get the local Meijer to carry more and more of the goodies that are over-priced at a certain trendy natural grocer...
it's good to see you bloggin again - you need to post some photos of your loverly family.

biggs is my personal store of choice. the natural foods buyer comsumes coffee at brutopia. david's trying to get her to stock the shelves with some fair -trade organic amazing la terza coffee. i like it that they have lots of local stuff. word has it that trader joes might go into northside....

speaking of your kro-ghetto....i shopped at one of those when we lived in atlanta. i kinda liked shopping side by side with women in house slippers. and appreciated the security gaurds at the entrance and exit.
